Ted was a good man, and a good pilot. His plane was in for an extensive rebuild/upgrade at the same time I was turning mine from a project back into a plane. He finished first, but we were always excited to compare progress. When we were both back in the air, we swapped rides - I've been in that plane, just as he was one of the first to fly mine after she was airborne again. When I left Alaska, he insisted on escorting me from Anchorage all the way to the border.
He leaves behind a wife he loved deeply, and kids that were his pride and joy.
Last time I saw him, he was waggling his wings, calling safe journey on the radio, as his 182 split for Anchorage, and I headed for Beaver Creek.
Damn, I miss that man.
