This fly-in is coming up for folks in the north-east. The runway is in beautiful condition! We are planning on having a six-foot sub for lunch on Saturday and a cook-out Saturday evening.

We cut up a couple of trees that fell down over the winter and have around a cord of wood for the campfire. Bring your folding chairs! Beer and soda in the fridge!

Anybody going? I had fun time the last time I went. Rod puts on a good event.

I hope to be there again this year. Rod did an outstanding job last year and I couldn't have asked for a better host. The field is as good as any putting green and it makes the worst landing seem perfect. Great company and great time.

Nick, I missed you and Max at Horn Point. Hope to see you at 50PA.

It is going to be hot and there may be occasional thunderstorms but I will be setting up a 40 x 60 tent Friday afternoon and will keep the food fresh and the beer cold for Saturday. Worst case is a full stomach and a good nap. The door will be open and you are welcome!

Re: 6/11/11 - BCP Northeast Fly-In - Sciota, PA (50PA)

Unfortunately it rained and the field was socked in both days!

As much as I was looking forward to seeing friends from the last couple of years and making new ones, folks made the correct choice and stayed home.

I do want to thank my fellow EAA chapter members who really worked to make the field perfect, put up the 40 x 60 tent, prep the hangars, and in the end help me consume the three foot hogie under the tent in the pouring rain!

Dang thats a bummer. I had a dream of flying back there and when I saw the forecast it looked like you were going to be good. I have a goal to fly to every state except Hawaii. I'll get there one day.

Cheers...Rob

Rob,

You are welcome anytime. If you need a place to stay, my wife and I have two guest bedrooms you can pick from. I will take the day off and we can go flying. There are some really beautiful country airports around the Poconos and at 3,000 ft you can see both the New York and Philadelphia skylines at the same time a on clear day!
