6/21/2008 - Fly-in Fantasy Field - Chehalis, WA

Posted for Terry and Kelly.

Event:
2nd Annual Fantasy Field Fly-In & Barbeque

Location:
Chehalis, Washington

Date:
06/21/08 - 06/21/08

Description:
We celebrate our fly-in on the first Saturday after Father's Day. This year it will be on June 21st. 10AM until whenever.

Potluck event, please bring a delicious side dish, salad or dessert, we provide the rest! Some on-field camping spots still left. Always plenty to eat, drink, see and do! Some fellows had a poker game going until about 2AM last year. We had a blast.

Open to ALL aircraft, and especially friendly towards ultralights. (2 Flightstars and an AirBike on the field.)

FANTASY FIELD AIRSTRIP, CHEHALIS, WA.
Our coordinates are as follows........
N 46*35.270'
W 122*51.946'

Runway 10/28
Approximately 8.3 nm SSE of CLS
Look for red barn at N/W end of field.
Thank you very much for including us!

Kelly & Terry Sullivan

237 Forest-Napavine Rd, E
Chehalis, WA. 98532

Other notes:
CTAF 122.9 - mostly. Some locals use 123.4
Field length - 2100 feet, grass.
Elevation - about 300' more or less.
Winds permitting, land RW 28 (northish) and depart 10. Power lines and trees at end of 28.
There should be PLENTY of parking along the taxiway (which, I noticed, could be used as a crosswind runway during non-fly-in times). Don't confuse it for the runway.
Bring your own tie-downs.

Stopped by and chatted with Terry today. They will have a Porta-potty on site. (hope one is sufficient). And there should be camping room for those staying overnight (up until 2am playing poker I guess).
email (get rid of the nospamthis from the address) [email protected].

Kelly has a C-172 with Landes fork and 8.5's. He can be found regularly landing on gravel bars and the multitude of other local strips.

A BIG Thank You to Kelly and Terry for hosting a great Fantasy Field Fly In. I got there about 1300 and there must have been about 30 aircraft. It went the whole gamut...homebuilts and ultralights, to Oshkosh winning restorations. Some really super folks to meet. There are a few private fields in the area and some of the pilots who own them were present. The Fantasy Field is really nice, good approaches, very nicely done, big tires not required. The food was extraordinary, a big BBQ with lots of sides and desserts. Many people drove there or even brought their motorhome. Fantasy Field was truly living up to its name. Thanks again!

I second that. I big thanks to Terri and Kelly. Great hosts and great food. Spent quite a bit of time chatting with folks with a lot of experience and good stories to tell.

Pictures posted in my FantasyField_0806 album. Too lazy and short on time to post them in the thread.
