7.00 vs. 8.00 tire radius?
Avionics, airplane covers, tires, handheld radios, GPS receivers, wireless Wx uplink...any product related to backcountry aircraft and flying.
BLUF: what is the radius of installed 7.00 and 8.00 tires?
I'm finally getting around to changing the Nose wheel tire on my 206, normalizing the attitude with the airglas STC change. The attitude with the nose serviced correctly and about a mid-chart, heavy load is getting me snickered at when I taxi by. I'm not using the airplane for the rougher stuff that I'd hoped for.
I'm deciding between a 7.00 and 8.00 x 6. I know the numbers vary, but what is the general radius of 7.00 and 8.00 tires installed so I can do some experimenting with attitude?

Goodyear had tire dimensions on line.
I used it for determining how big a tire would fit in a Stinson wheelpant.

Those are diameters but depending on how you run them you'll loose an inch or two or more on height loaded. Something to consider if you're that sensitive. Some tires really flatten out, others a lot less so.

Brett,
I don't have radius of those tires. But, I found that the 8.00 nose tire combined with the 8.50 on the mains resulted in the best angle on the ground, and closest to stock 206 angle. Easier to land without concern for wheelbarrowing.
Also, bear in mind that different brands of tires sometimes have different radius, even though they're listed as same size by spec.
