747 lands at McMinnville, OR. MMV

We stood on the taxiway at about the touch down point.
They touched down at approx. 750' and was stopped at about 4000'.
5400' runway with 1000' overrun.

Re: 747 lands at McMinnville, OR. MMV

That would have been mucho fun to see in person! I was just there mid-July on a ground-bound vacation taking my kids to see the museum. Very impressive what Evergreen has accomplished, including the 747 tanker. I missed their demonstration runs down here at McClellan (KMCC) too. Heard that was a sight to behold as well, watching that much water come down over such a huge area.

Thanks for sharing.

Looks to me for the size thats pretty much a very capable STOL aircraft =D> , Wait a minute #-o I have to take the T @ O out of that, Looks Like for the size it's a great SL capable aircraft
Great video! =D>
Is that there water bomber or is that one of there freighters that there putting in the museum?
Closest thing to that that I can remember was flying in to Macgrath about 25 years ago on a 737
and making sure you lifted your feet off the floor while you had your hands on the back of the chair in front of you so anything on the floor didn't hit your ankles [-o< . I don't remember for sure( getting that AGE disease) but I think it was just over 3000-3500' of gravel #-o . Was always fun to sit next to someone who had never been there before! Almost as fun as the Lemon Creek departure out of Juneau. .
As I said, AGE disease, just rambling on, I guess a running mouth is one of the symptoms  .
Have fun all, Thats what it's all about GT :-" \:D/

Hey Ian(Flying Kiwi)

You know you could have done it! Hot brakes and all!! See guys.... not all airline pilots are big wimps. These guys would make good members of backcounty pilots.

I stopped by Evergreen on my way home from the coast yesterday, and that 747 is sitting proudly out front. The engine cowlings are all empty though. I heard that they fetch something like 20 million a piece? Is that right?
