Re: < 75 foot takeoff?

Meh, I can do that... But my plane is NOWHERE near that cool!!! 8)

If I ever build something, I think the Super STOL would be it. But by the time that happens these things will be getting off the ground in -75' whatever that means!

Haha, yea I'm in the same boat. Right now if I were to build I'd be very interested in the Superstol.

Trailer Trash........I guess that's a little obscure. It looks like a fellow could commute by air from a small lot where they keep their RV. I think that's what I see there.

For about the same price you could have a 0ft take off run.

Re: < 75 foot takeoff?

That Highlander SS had one of the prototype Catto props for the 912S. 82" dia =D> Same in cruise but 25% more climb. And the real clincher....it's 1.5 lbs lighter then the Kiev, which is generally thought to be the lightest out there! Catto has expressed a interest in fine tuning one for the S-7's performance envelop , and I am patiently waiting for him to get back to me after sending him the requested airspeed numbers at various throttle settings. I have heard from many that while all rave about his props, he is so busy and sort of small time as per production, that it can take a while.

Cool vid, expert use of that drop off to enable rotation quicker, plus I like the way he romped on it while turning so had the revs up when straightened out =D>

Tom, I was supposed to be the S7 test bed ( Craig's shop is at Jackson-Westover), bit we could never line up schedules. We are both to busy to fly!!

Re: < 75 foot takeoff?

The superstol is definitely an interesting machine. I'd be interested in seeing how long that landing gear can hold out until it needs to be serviced.

Re: < 75 foot takeoff?

Ran into Gary Schmidt from Just Aircraft with a SuperSTOL while passing through Franklin, NC last year. Apparently the factory is nearby. Impressive performer.

My son with the aforementioned airplane:

Did any of you guys get a look at the size of the baggage area? Curious how much space and how easy the access is...
