A Fourth Of July Fly-in?

We need to plan a fourth of July Fly-in next year. Somewhere centrally located and accessible to all of us where it's still legal to light off some fireworks and camp on the airport. Does anyone know of such a place?

Well, in which states are fireworks still legal? That's a good start.

In the scope of the western US, given our current member distribution, I think Oregon is as central as it gets. I like the idea though. Black Rock Desert??? j/k  Although, Strata if you need to blow stuff up, that would be a good place since there's nothing to ignite except your own plane. Dusty though. Erin and i go out there every year for the Burning Man festival.

Yeah, I'm not talkin' about any lilly fireworks. I'm talkin' about the stuff that makes a serious bang, and mortar shells and such! Wyoming comes to mind when I'm thinking about the serious stuff. I don't want to be carrying fireworks in the plane, I'd rather buy them on location. Get a bunch of people together, rent a car, and go on a spending spree.

Burning man eh?...yuh hippie!

Actually, 22-27 knots blows. :) It's only like that about 50% of the time. :) :)

I found this page while doing a quick search this morning. Fireworks Laws by State

I wish I'd come up with this idea a few months ago or even the year before, it would have worked better for a weekend fly-in. The fourth falls on a Tuesday next year.

Did you have a specific tribe in mind Jr.?
