I hope this is the right place to post this, if not, Zzz put it where you think best.
As I have posted in other threads my wife and I moved back from Delta Junction, AK in Sept of '12. We have been going up to AK every year for about 8 years in various locations Anchorage, Seward, St Mary's, Tok, Delta Junction. We finally moved up to Delta Jct in July of '11. We love everything about AK except that our kids and grandkids do not live there and cannot afford to visit. In June of '12 we brought our 14 year old grandson up to spend 6 weeks with us, and we took him all over AK by air and camper. Well in the middle of July we put him on a plane back home and we then realized that we didn't like being that far from family. So we decided to move back.
So now we are back and cannot believe how much we miss AK. So this is where I need all of the great minds on this forum, we need to figure out how to go between SD and AK and still make a living.
To help in this endeavor he is a little info on us. My wife is a Family Practice Nurse Practitioner with an Alaska license. I have been self employed most of my adult life. I started in construction specializing in finish carpentry and progressing to custom built furniture. Then later in life I received my PPL, since then my whole life has revolved around aviation. I switched careers and learned to be an avionics tech and am now working with my oldest son who is an A&P IA and owns the FBO on KLYV airport.
We want it all and hope maybe someone out there has an idea we haven't thought of (especially you Alaska guys), if it involves aviation all the better.
