A&P Schools in Utah
A general forum for anything related to flying the backcountry. Please check first if your new topic fits better into a more specific forum before posting.
Looks like I will be moving back to Logan, UT after I separate from the Navy. I love both flying and working on aircraft and have been meaning to get my A&P license. For the type of aviation career I want it makes sense to pickup the license and my retirement plans involve restoring aircraft.
I am applying for USU's Aviation Maintenance program starting next fall. Any recommendations on it or other programs in northern Utah? The associates degree portion of it doesn't really matter to me but I will be using part of my 9/11 GI bill to pay for it so a school that excepts that is important.

I like Logan a lot more than Poky but ISU has a good program, in a bigger town which may have more to offer in terms of stuff other than school. But I'd probly pick USU.

Well what happened? Utah State used to have an A&P course. Of course, that was back in 1967

I moved from Afton, WY to Helena, MT in January of 2015 to go to A&P school at Helena College. I'll be done December 16th. It's a good program, and I know they accept VA benefits.

And I would much rather be in Helena than either Logan or Pocatello!!!

You could check out the SLCC A&P program at the Salt Lake International Airport. I've heard mostly good things about it. May be cheaper than USU. Though the campus experience would be better in Logan.
I've seen more than a few retired types over there going thru the course for the ticket and not necessarily degrees.

Altitude is Time…. Airspeed is Life!
I forgot about SLCC so I might apply there too.
I would love live in Helena but I have family and a free house in Logan. My wife has friends in Pocatello but I've never really warmed up to the place.
