A personal best

I've got quite a collection on the hangar wall of different airplanes I've had parked in front of abandoned/falling down buildings, pretty common around these parts. It has been fun to first look for them, then see if I can land there. Today, on two different flights in areas 80 miles apart, I managed to find 5, (all while flying to different destinations, I just keep an eye out), a personal best! This is what happens when the crane work is slow and the flying weather is absolutely perfect, I don't know or care if I'm semi unemployed or semi retired. But... it looks like another good/bad day tomorrow flying wise and workwise :D

Re: A personal best

Just think Tom, at some time years ago they were someone's pride and joy. I remember here in NE and up in SD some of our familys grew up in places just like the ones you photographed here. You hate to see these places so delapidated but the land will just not sustain that many people living on them these days. Whenever I see these big old farm or ranch houses I think of the people who used to live here, the families, the times they had, and where did everyone go.. Thanks or the pictures..it reminds me of younger days and family ties.
