a quick burn

Hey guys, went for a fly the other day and took my go pro up to try a couple of new camera angles. annoyingly it has a scratch on the lens, but still got a few nice shots including some of whales you might like

Thanks for posting. Enjoyed it. Some neat perspectives.

I could watch those waves break for hours, but I'd be tempted to do it from about 50 feet! 8)

Re: a quick burn

Righto. Not that I would ever suggest breaking any rules, nor publishing the film if one inadvertently did. :-#

Neat craft, neat terrain, and neat camera angles.

Nice video! I enjoyed watching that. Were anything but coastal here being high desert, so i'm envious of where you get to fly.

I know that strip well, g'day Tim, nice aspects. Fancy seeing you on here! Sold the motorglider and got into a Maule M5 235, have to catch up soon. This bloke set a record for Guinness for the most take offs and landings in a day while raising money for a charity.

Re: a quick burn

Nice video. I keep thinking a Drifter,Kolb Firestar, or a Moyes Dragonfly would be pretty neat planes to fly around local.

Re: a quick burn

Cool video. Nice weather and scenery.

I'd suggest changing your GoPro to 16:9 aspect ratio for nice wide screen format, and to take advantage of the popular video hosts like Youtube and Vimeo. I think their encoders are optimized for 16:9. You may also be cropping field of view by not using 16:9.

Re: a quick burn

see now hear is clearly a man who knows more about go pros than just strapping it to a plane, hitting record and making his girlfriend watch endless videos of flying!

how do i do that? its a hero 2. Also do you know if you can get a go pro lens fixed or replaced?

Watch this video at the time that I specified in the URL (3:26): http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... BPXM#t=206

I'd say choose 1080p 30fps for max image quality. Depending on the graphics power of your computer you use for editing, it may choke on that a bit. I imagine many computer upgrades in the last few years have been precipitated by the need to edit HD video from these little cameras.

As for the lens... good question. I have no idea. If GoPro will repair it, the cost and shipping would probably make you consider just upgrading the camera to their next latest and greatest model.
