Based on whale fin "technology".... some wind turbine blade designers are also looking into it. I believe its called turbuclear or something like that. Also some commercial ceiling fan manufacturers. The bumps on whale flippers are there for a eason it seems. Go figure, cool stuff.

They are called tubercles. Ironically, they guy who realized they serve the same function on whale fins as VGs do on a wing (or an Evo) is named Dr. Frank Fish.

Still at Birchwood. My pops was there last weekend and took this photo for me.

I agree Z...very ugly...I had never seen these before.
