Acorn muffler
Have you modified your aircraft? STC? STOL Kit? Major rebuild from just a data plate?
Anybody running Acorn's stc'd flame coneless muffler on a 180/185? If so, what are you impressions?

I have one on my 180. Stock 0-470R. I don't have anything to compare it with, but I really like it. Works good and holds up well.

Thanks for the response. The cone is kaput in my muffler, so I'm in the market for a replacement and I'm exploring my options. I'm intrigued by the purported performance gains of Leading Edge's exhaust system, but I don't think it's in the budget this year.

We have a 206 in the hangar right now with leading edge exhaust. It definitely makes a difference and you can see why. Having all the down pipes the same length does help in the exhaust world. But as is all things, not sure it's worth the extra cost. If you are running injection and good monitoring and LOP then I'm sure it does, but on a carburated engine I'm not sure so much.
