Adventure Seaplanes - A great place to learn!

I received my float endorsement a few weeks ago at Adventure Seaplanes and I must say it was a great experience. Both Brian and Matt are excellent instructors and thay made me really feel comfortable in what I was learning. Their facility at Cherry Pocket, FLA creates a relaxing environment and yet still provides professional instruction. I would recommend this school to anyone. Accomodation was right on site and very well priced.

It was nice to have the flavour of two different instructors with two dirrerent planes. Thanks to you, my dream of float flying has become a reality while having the time of my life. =D> =D> =D>

Thanks again to Brian, Matt and Lori!!

Congratulations Garth. You could not have went with a nicer group of people. Warm weather and great food available on site had to be a nice perk also.

Question (since I just experienced this), will you have to get 10 hours in with a Canadian instructor to get the float endorsement? I ran into this when taking the Canadian pilot's exam last month, in order to fly a Canadian registrered plane. I got the ticket, but they required I either get 10 hours training with a Canadian instructor, or have at least 50 hours of float time in the last 12 months for the float endorsement. In my case i just have to put on a few more hours in June in my US registered plane to meet the 12 month requirement, send Winnipeg my log book and they will grant the endorsement.

Thanks for your help. I found a helmet with the heated visor at the Yamaha shop in Winnipeg. Steve

Good Question Steve - I'm just trying to confirm that now. To my knowledge, I will not have to get 10 hours here. I did 11 hours with Adventures and I believe at most, I may need a check ride with a Canadian instructor or a Commercial pilot.

I will post once I confirm.

looks like I will need 5 solo take offs and landings as a minimum. We did not do this in the US but I've found out that it is a requirement in Canada before I get my endorsement.
