I’m getting close to the point in my project, where I am starting to seriously think avionics. In particular, I want to be IFR ready and would really like an autopilot with vertical control. The GRT Sport EX is looking like it’s a good solution in a small package. How is the mechanical aspect of pitch dealt with, typically? The elevator trim in a Stinson does not lend itself to servo control so would I need a an elevator pushrod setup? Is this why there are two types of servos offers? High and low torque? Trim vs direct elevator?
