One of the most Joy Divisiony New Order songs ever. Murder. Works well.

Cool footage. I think this guy has made one of these fire bomber vids before. I wonder if he travels for them or just lives in a very fire ridden area of CA?

I guess they have to come in down wind so they can see the target, but with the winds, an up wind approach would get more water on a given spot I'd think??

If I was 25, I'd go for one of those jobs.

That is cool....years ago before I moved to Alaska I ran CAT on a lot of fires in northern California. (Real northern CA.... [-X .....not that south of Redding Nor Cal.... :? ) More than once our fire boss has got us into some scary shit and had to make a fast retreat out. Had a load of retardant dumped on us once... that crap will take your breath away and stain your shit for weeks to come.

Great vid!!

Are there any of you former (or current) air attack guys here who had any dealings with the PBYs of SLAFCO in the late 70s early 80s? My Dad flew for Schlaefli and I'm always on the lookout for folks who may have known him.
