Aermacchi AM3C

Hi,

I'm new to this forum. We own and fly an Aermacchi AM3C based in Richmond South Africa. I've included a few pictures taken by a friend of our aircraft.

It is interesting to note that our aircraft was the very first aircraft to roll off the factory production line (after the prototypes) and formed part of the three aircraft sent to Rwanda.

richw56,

She is an awesome machine to fly and gives us tremendous pleasure. Like all taildraggers she is not without her vices if you fail to keep your digit fully extracted from that dark place

Zzz,

Absolutely.

nomiddlemas,

The short-field take-off data is 279 feet at sea level (off a paved surface) and landing 213 feet 8) and that is at MAUW.

Re: Aermacchi AM3C

Lately I've been checking out some turbine mods for typical bush planes, and I came across the Aerotek Turbo Grizzly of Canada. The aircraft, particularly in the wing, looks a great deal like the old Northwest Ranger/aermacchi AL-60, which the Am-3 is based on. Does anybody know of any design relation here , or is the turbo-grizzly an original design that copied some useful design features? slightly off topic, i know but this is a question that's really been nagging me. Thanks!
