It is pretty neat.
It has been done for a decade or more with open source software and homemade camera arrays using low cost NTSC OEM camera packages. Some integrate low cost IMU's (think Occulus Rift) to create some unique experiences for gaming and other applications.The average costs have typically run about $150 plus a lot of fiddle time to learn to do the stitching with the software (OpenCV, others).
These look like they are targeting the $400-$500 range.
My own project used two systems to cover a 70 degree field of view in 3D...the stereo effect really falls off outside about 60 degrees FOV in the near field. A network of units allows 3d in any direction...something others have demonstrated, and a pretty cool idea for an airborne application. Something I wish I had time to play with.
