Agony of defeat...balled up Maule

Well, just when I was complaining that there was nothing good on tv...another shot to the competency of pilots. Check out this Max-X clip:

The file is about 12MB.

Zane,

Unbelievable, you would think clipping a tree on the approach would have made him a bit wary. He sure passed a lot of good opportunities to abort the landing. Is it any surprise he wouldn't give up on the departure? Also, it looks like one or more people stayed behind (see the tent) I'll bet they're glad they waited for the helicopter. ;-)

BTW, Maybe Maule should use this video as an advertisement for the strength of their legendary fuselage...

I have dibs on the tires!
EA, that was my thought too that these guys went for a tumble at near flight speed and all walked away from it relatively unscathed.
It also says volumes as to why we are having discussions as to insurance providers and costs.
Things like this will happen, unfortunately, there are more and more cameras in the world to document our difficulties in making good desicions.

Dumb question.........

That thing isn't supposed to bounce around like that on landing like that, is it?(The first landing, I mean! :P )

BTW: dig the anti-hunting slant. :x

The more I think about this deal the less likely I am to be critical. It's easy to look at a crash and say the pilot screwed up, but bush flying is not an exact science. Let he who has never clipped a tree or bush on final cast the first stone. Of course, if you've never been the first to land somewhere you don't get a rock.

The expression "there's them that has, and them that will..." comes to mind.
