Look at the bright side and Just be glad its Experimental. You have lots of relatively inexpensive options compared to a FAA certified plane. It makes me smile every time...

Re: Ah man

How many landings you have on them? A lot of pavement?

Re: Ah man

About 120 hrs was all I got. Based at a pavement field, but a mix of on and off airport use, probably around 300 landings. That's about $7 a landing. Just not a practical option I guess. Just ordered the desser 8.50 tundra tires for $450.

Re: Ah man

We just put a set of the Desser 27.5X8 on the S20. Running tubeless with #10 right now. It was a pain to get them to stop leaking but I think it's whipped now. Been running the 8.50 smoothies tubeless with no issues. Time will tell as to how they hold up to pavement.

Re: Ah man

Where did you get the tubeless kit from? I got the spruce one and the stems will not work with my Cleveland rims.

Hah, came here to post this!

Those Desser 8.50 are excellent tires. Running them on my friends Taylorcraft and another set on a pacer. Nothing compares to Bushwheels, but they certainly are not designed for asphalt.

Re: Ah man

You have something out of wack, check your toe in etc. Rotate them once a year (de mount and remount them on the opposite wheel) so you're not wearing the same side all the time.

Those tires are ready to be rebuilt, not thrown away. Joel Milloway has just the thing...... get ahold of him.208-7579198. He's a busy guy, leave a message.

Re: Ah man

There was a fellow that was recapping those wheels and others with a special urethane. They worked great but he got shut down by pressure from the FAA. Stop and desist or we will take you to court.

I agree, check your toe in and yearly de mount and flip tires around, not just swap to other side.

Re: Ah man

On pavement - when I was too lazy to switch over to my spare set of wheels and 8:50 - I learned to taxi slower and make REALLY WIDE and still slower turns. Kept the pressure up then also.
Have heard the truck bed-liner story before.
If those two spots are all you have it is possible that the tires are not balanced and those "skid marks" always hit the pavement first. Mine looked similar to that but all the way around. Second set only went on in summer.

It is better to be late in this world, than early in the next.

Re: Ah man

Closer look and they are worn all the way around. So Courierguy are you saying these can be re-treaded?

We are using Matco wheels and brakes. He sells the tubeless kit which is an o-ring for the wheel halves and a valve stem for a tubeless wheel like a car uses.
