Are we talking for home use or camping? I bought my wife the Thermarest Luxurymap and she loves it. In fact, I do too and frequently steal it when she is not along. I'm a side sleeper, and it is the only pad that has never put my arm to sleep. The con is its bulky.

Well, what have you tried and not liked? The tone of your post is that you've tried many and have yet to use a good one.
Are you looking for single or double? If this just for you or is your companion sharing it?
Are you concerned about weight at all?
Durability and puncture resistance?

For un expected extra guest type home use, aerobed isn't bad.
For car/airplane camping I just get a walmart 14" tall queen and a tent that will fit it, it's cheap so if I have to buy a new one every couple years, whatever.
For more hardcore mountaineering, I'd check out REI, see what you like then get on promotive and see what deals can be had.

We have have been using 2 of these for the past few years. They're 4" thick and super comfortable, they can be hooked together. The sleeve can be removed and washed. Best camping pad I've had.

For light weight and space savings, we've loved our Expeds. Well insulated and a built in pump.

I got so sick and tired of camping out with flat air mattresses that I went to this instead. Works great! [emoji41]

Big Agnes Double Stuffed Double Z. I have 5 various Thermarest. This beats them all by far!

we have a couple of REI Kingdom Insulated Air Sleeping pads and really like them. Self contained pump is quick and easy and they pack down small. Also have insulation from the ground and surrounding air.
Tried one of the big pump up ones (Coleman I think) but almost froze to death at J'creek one year due to air in mattress being ambient and our bodies trying to heat all out doors.

So how does that work? You drive there, tilt a dish back fill it with foam and sleep in it

Looks like you could fill one with water and have a pool too
