I am looking for somebody who can draw custom aircraft caricatures!
Any idea? I think I saw something here a few years ago!

There is a number of ways to approach it.

1. Search your local graphics/graphic artists shops via internet and phonebook.

2. Determine if any artists are doing such caricature works for humans in local restaurants and bars, and inquire to them.

3. Check craigslist for graphics/ art work for hire. Consider posting your own ad under Help Wanted type places

4. Inquire to local arts schools, colleges with arts programs, etc. Look up and call some arts/graphics profs or department heads and ask if they have any starving artists looking for work. Perhaps post an ad with the career services office.

I continue to get a kick out of my caricature of my plane on a daily basis, the best $40.00 (I think it was) I ever spent. Just today I drove the crane down the interstate 40 miles at my usual 60 MPH, so giving lots of opportunity for those stuck behind me before passing my slow ass, to wonder why in the HELL does this crane truck have a goofy looking cartoony airplane picture (24" sq.) on it's rear window? Tomorrow, I'll also have my efatbike on the rear bumper, something additional for whoever to cogitate over. My cartoon (as I think of it) lightens my work day, and makes me smile every time I look at it. And for those that think it's inappropriate on a otherwise serious piece of equipment doing serious work: if they don't like it they can call some one else, I don't really care, so that hasn't happened once .

OK, I'll make that happen.

Today, a rare Sunday job. Changing out a billboard on one of the busiest streets in town. I lifted it off, then rode my onboard carried (not the rarely carried e fattie) e bike dingy 9 miles in mid 20 temps, had breakfast and ran some errands while the sign crew prepped it for re-installation. That's why my outrigger is partially out (before someone comments on it), I had just pulled forward enough to get the sign co. man lift in. The same sign company BTW, that took my file and blew it up into that easily installed vinyl depiction. No loss of detail, great color, and cheap. While I had them do that, after I found out how cheap they were, I also had 3 smaller ones made, about 8" x 10", one for my Doomsday Dodge 1 ton (pre electronic fuel injection, I'll still be driving it after the big EMT strike, thus the name) one for my most used entry into the shop, and one on the side cowl of the plane itself, along with some other logos. As stated, I have no idea what the gen public makes of it, not my problem! I like to think any other pilots, "get it," the little smile on the lower cowl, priceless!

For those who have made an order, did you send a description of the personality that you attach to your airplane so the artist could create the drawing to reflect that?

I didn't, he figured it out all on his own, and nailed it.

Probably a few people like me wondering how to get one for myself.
