Today's Big Picture from Boston.com is full of photos of firefighting aircraft in action over the forest fire in Haifa, Israel... one of which looks mighty familiar... The CL215 from Ice Pilots that the guys delivered to Turkey??

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”

The twin engine bomber looks like one from Ice Pilot's tv show.

After 5 years in Turkey I can verify that "Turk" on the side of the airplane means it is in fact from Turkey.
Did you see the video's of the Evergreen 747 dumping retardant on the fire? That was pretty impressive.

Most of the Canadair Cl-215/415 airplanes built live and work in Europe now. The 747 drop was impressive. Probably the only tanker around (besides the Evergreen DC 10 tanker) that could travel from the US to Isreal. I'll bet that cost a pretty penney, though.

Impressive video of Tanker 979. This would take about 25 SEAT drops!
