Re: EarthX STC Approval for 12V C170!

Nice.

How about an install primer? Is it drop in and use or do I need to know anything? Can I use my old battery charger? Do I need to change alternator controller setup? Is there any wiring to do? What happens if I leave the master on? Can I jump the plane? How does it handle the cold?
I think it fits the Atllee battery box now?

Re: EarthX STC Approval for 12V C170!

Thanks for the questions.

The EarthX website answer all your questions in detail here: http://www.earthxbatteries.com. You will find the installation manual that outlines what is required to install it but it assumes the same location and battery box you already have.

You can use your old charger is it does not have a pulse conditioning, deep conditioning or desulphation mode. There is a page on website for details about battery charging.

You do not need to change your alternator.

If you leave your master on, the battery has a battery management system that will protect your battery from damage and you have a month to discover this happened and recharge it.

You can jump your plane is you are in an emergency situation, same as a lead acid, with a like sized battery. If you are able to use a plug in the wall charger, this is best, no different than a lead acid battery.

For cold starts, if you are in subzero temperatures, you must do the same warm up or heater procedures as you would a lead acid battery.

And yes, it fits in the Atlee box.

Feel free to reach out to us directly at [email protected] or 970.674.8884 if you have specific questions, we are happy to assist.
