Not sure this would be ok in Marketplace, so I will put it here, unless told otherwise.
My wife sells realestate. She is new to it, but very good, excellent customer service and all that. Anyways, she just got a listing for airpark property at River View Airpark. If you look at a sectional, find Chelan Municipal (S10), go north following runway 20 and you will run right into it, about 2 miles out.
There are 2 residences on the airpark, this is the last lot availible, so three total. It is 22 acres and has easement for a 60x100 hangar on the taxiway. It is not far enough from S10 to warm up your oil, seems about a minute or so before I am there when I depart straight out. Nice 1800' paved runway.
The two guys who live there are pretty cool, always extend an invitation to stop by and have coffee.
It is located in Douglas county. That means the cheapest electric power in the USA (or at least close to it) clean well water, and pretty much unrestricted living. The guys who iive there ride snowmachines to breakfast in Mansfield, about 20 miles away, across open wheat fields. Tons of deer, some elk, coyotes.
I would move there if I could, in fact I looked at it in 2011 when I bought the house I live in, but couldn't afford to build at that time.
I am not making any legally binding promise, but... no one will ever develop the area around this airpark. It will remain pretty remote and quiet for the rest of any of our lives. Google earth it, and you will understand. It is a dirt road the last 3 or 4 miles into it, very few homes around it, and most that are there are seasonal cabins. The area to the east offers 100's of off airport landing oportunities, no one in Douglas county really cares what you do and the farmers are used to seeing low flying aircraft do to the crop dusting. Also, see the sectional for the area. Lots of little airports, Spokane is about an hour for me in a C150, and Stehikan is close enough to be a lunch run. The area between the property and the river is pretty much untouched land, and do to the distance from pavement, it will probably be a while before that is ever built on too.
Here is the listing http://www.lakechelanidx.com/listing.ph ... _current=1
If I could buy it and build there right now, I would. My wifes contact info is in the listing, her name is Kathy Jo. The photos are from the agent she got the listing from (he retired) We will be updating them soon, and adding aerials, and hopefully a video of the approach and departure.
Again, if this post is inappropriate, or placed in the wrong area, let me know.
