The Scotsman was worth the price of admission, he made the movie. The Boy & I watched it last night too.

planes in movies

No don't know who's plane that is but I have another question.

I saw an old movie a long time ago about bush pilots in the North woods, they mostly flew float planes and I think Jimmy Cagney was one of the pilots. They did some pretty cool flying and I would like to see it again.

Anyone know the name of the movie?????

Don't recall/never heard of the Jimmy Cagney movie.
If they filmed that Rock movie in Brazil it might be the real deal, but I'm thinking that if they filmed it in the US or canada it might be a phonied up airplane. I'd be surprised if the movie folks gave it that much thought, but be even more surprised if they went on location to South America. I tried to look the tailnumber up yesterday on Landings.com, but they don't do Brazil. I tried googling but not much luck there either. Did get some spanish or portugese stuff (which I couldn't read) but didn't see "el cessna 170" either so no joy there.

captains of the clouds

Way cool,

What is the IMDB website? Is it to download the movies to watch on the 'puter?

Other cool movie moments are the Beaver wreck in "The Edge" and the other Beaver wreck in a movie where they botch the landing and cartwheel accross the water.

Shane-

IMDB is just a database of information about movies, actors, directors, etc.

I think the second beaver crash you're talking about was in "Mother Load" with Charleton Heston.

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”

A high school budy of mine's dad (Jim Bissel) was an ex WWII B-24 pilot. Was then an exec pilot for Disney Productions and did part time flying for Tallmantz productions.

Jim did the flying in It's a Mad Mad Mad world. Remember the twin Beach flying trough the hanger and through the bill board. Jim was quite the stick and rudder man.

He was supposed to fly the plane in the original Flight of the Phoenix. They would only pay him 5000 bucks so he said forget it. Paul Mantz did it and died in the crash of the plane. They rebuilt the plane and Frank Tallman then flew it for the movie.

When the remake came out I could not lower myself to see it cus it was just computer graphics. Sorry Zane.
