Airports used to be cool places to hang out and just "hanger fly " with the local airport bums .Saw your pictures of Corona ,Ca airport --- been there many a time. Aircraft Spruce is just a phone call away where you can go spend money. Most of the airports are going to the dogs with security gates with rubber faced chicken "I want to keep your ass out " -even if you want to go to your airplane. Lots of airports are fortified forts of bureaucratic B.S. -and less about pilots or airplanes.Good luck on finding good old fashion airports. Used to a requirement every airport had a coffee pot brewing for wayward pilots or look-lews . Go into the local flight school or fbo and get a sectional for area .

Hello Mr Bill. Corona is surprisingly still wide open. Drove right in and up to the fuel island and hung out on the bench next to the bathrooms. Perfect spot to watch all the action. There was even a holder on the wall behind the benches that contained square plastic cards with numbers on them to show pilots their score after landing :D I'll get a picture of that next time.

BTW....... Hangars are available at Corona starting at $300.00 per month. Seems about half what you'd pay at Fullerton or SNA.

$300 is probably due to the fact that the airport has completely flooded 2 times in the last 6 or 7 years. We are talking water to the top of the hangers from midfield westward.

Go to Bob's Chili barn --- if it's still open. At Chino go to Flo's Dinner or cafe at Rilito ,
