Now I really don't like golf, but my wife loves it. Happy wife, happy life. I told her we'd throw our bags in the wagon and play a few courses. She seems more interested about the trip now.
I'm hoping to tee up a ball in Barrow and hit it into the Arctic Ocean. Is it good form to shoot your golf ball in Alaska if you get pissed?
There's a course on Ft Wainwright. I'm no golfer either so I can't say if it's any good or not. Not sure if you need a DOD ID to play but if you do I have some buddies that are still up there I might could ask to sponsor you and your wife for a round.
Chena Bend course on Fort Wainwright is a very nice layout. You don't need a DOD ID. Usually take until late June to be in great shape. If you were to make it this far North, give me a PM. There are other activities I can hook you up with on post.

Thanks guys. We will definitely stop by. North Star Golf Club looks good as well. Playing this and Chena Bend will gets us the Northern most USGA course and the Northern most U.S. Military course. Good bragging rights for my wife among her friends.
Chena Bend: The course was rated by “Golf Digest” as Alaska’s best for 1999, 2007, 2008 and 2009 and received a four-star rating in the 2008 and 2009 edition of Golf Digest’s “Best Places to Play.”
