Alaska Bushwheels 10" wheels

I bought the new 29" tires on 10" wheels from Alaska Bushwheels & picked them up in Joseph OR a couple of weeks ago. I was met by Wup & he helped me change them out. Their service was great & I am really happy with the new tires. I thought the tires would be difficult to get used to, but they actually are easier to land than my 8.50s. I am running 14 pounds in them & the landings are much softer. The only negative I’ve noticed is braking is a little less effective. I landed them in a 30 degree cross wind at KMEV 16 gusting 22 & they were great. On grass & dirt they are far superior. It seems to have cost about 5 kts airspeed, but the increase in the Bitchen factor is worth the speed loss. Check them out at http://www.akbushwheel.com/10x10BushWheel.html

Re: Alaska Bushwheels 10" wheels

Funny you should mention that. Just got the new 10X10 Bush wheels for the 206 in the mail a week or so ago. I'll use 8.50-10 tires. I too was very impressed with the quality of the new wheel, even the packaging is precise. Having 9 bolts holding the wheel halves together is awesome in my opinion and I really like the black anodized finish. Although I never had any trouble with the glue-on adapter Gar Aero 10" set - up, this is much more sanitary. Good job. Also have the Landis nose fork sitting on the shelf. Waiting for my IA to get back to town to do the install and paperwork. Should be a really cool set-up when it's all together.

I feel more manly now than ever.

Is this what happens when you put a little blue pill in a 8.50?

Now Rob posting pictures like that is just plain ol' bragging. :D

I hope to have some of my own to post pretty soon, of course it will have the tail wheel on the wrong end.

The 850 x 10 McCreary's look lighter than the 29x11 (?) Goodyears I've seen. Personally I'd be inclined to go with them. What are the advantages of the 29" GY's?

My wife says bigger is better.

I said does that apply to your butt too. [-X

Just kidding.

Seriously though. The ones I got are by Air Hawk, they are 4ply. That makes them softer and lighter. 29x11x10

Re: Alaska Bushwheels 10" wheels

My wife wanted a boob job! I told her to save the money and wipe her boobs with tolet paper every night. She looked at me and said "how it that going to give me bigger boobs." I told her "we've been married for 20 yrs, all of which you been wiping your ass with tolet paper and look how big that got.

Just kidding my wife weighs 105 lbs wet. I have to straighten the facts just in case this gets back.

Re: Alaska Bushwheels 10" wheels

After looking at Rob's new 10" wheels when he was here I have to admit that they are a nice looking piece. But, since I already have a spare Gar-Aero wheel, I would have to break two in order to justify replacing the Cubs wheels. On another note, I would recommend them over the Gar-Aero's wheel. I like that they are one piece, lighter and good looking.
