Folks may be starting to plan for a trip up North in 2026. A couple of items that are new (at least to me):

* Canada requires a first aid kit be carried in your plane. There are specific required contents listed as well. Make sure simple things (e.g. alcohol swabs) are not expired!

* Canada is requiring aircraft to have a HALON fire extinguisher on board too. And, make sure it isn't expired!

Rumor has it that ramp checks may be more prevalent this year...

Hmm, we fly through US airspace all the time (departing in Canada, landing in Canada) without a flight plan. The reference on first aid kits and fire extinguishers is under CARS 705 (like FAA part 121). I didn’t see it for the equivalent of Part 91.

I’ll dig into it a little further. Might just be a rogue customs zealot.
