Alaskan Women Bush Pilots

A demo reel for a proposed reality show. I know I'd watch it!

Re: Alaskan Women Bush Pilots

They closed the airport for runway repair at our desert Skydiving Center. My pilot wife flying the Stol 206 with skydivers comes home from flying off some of the dirt roads. "Im a bush pilot!'' I ask " Were the bushes going through the landing gear?'' She says "no" , hangs her head and starts making me dinner. A couple of days later its 105 in the shade, She comes home looking beat, "Im a bush pilot".

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”

Re: Alaskan Women Bush Pilots

I've worked with almost every person on that crew, getting their stuff fixed. The crazy thing is, it's all by phone - I didn't know what half of them looked like until I started putting voices to faces on the video! Good people, good operation.

Nobody warned me before I flew into Homer the first time that it was at the bottom of a giant bluff. "It's all downhill in Homer" isn't just metaphor! First time flying in, coming out of the clouds on that backcourse, all caught up in turn ten and twist ten, finally looked out the window and went "Wait! Where's the town?" I almost thought I'd made a dreadful error and wondered if I'd been tracking the wrong VOR until I came over the edge of the bluff, and suddenly realized I had a lot of altitude to lose in a hurry.

Re: Alaskan Women Bush Pilots

You ladies are living my dream (from a long, long time ago). I didn't fly when I was young enough, and didn't have the gumption to move to Alaska, although I wanted to in the worst way. Congratulations on living (my) dream, and fly safely!

Baloney is still baloney, no matter how thin you slice it.
