....."technology stepped in and saved the day." Yes...thank goodness for TCAS. But I guess the AA captain just sat on his fat ass and did nothing huh? Wonder whose hands were on the controls when AA made the decent. That is the trouble with thinking today. Machines do it all. Humans are just along for the ride.

And....as for the Air Force Pilot who was screaming...."stop AA at 21,000 ft." Why wasn't he leveling off, turning or climbing? Wonder why TECHNOLOGY didn't step in and "save the day?" Bottom line....humans made the error or errors...... and humans saved the day.

Arrgh!

Scolopax, I demand partial credit for correct spelling and will always miss the hippy dippy weatherman. Carlin was my favorite comedian.
He could have made a come back over this handling of technology in the cockpit. The more it does for us it seems the less we do for ourselves. Self reliance in reverse.
