Great job Zane on putting this site, the group and fly-in together. I, for one, had a great time and I'm sure others will chime in. For those that missed it, your going to be sorry, especially when you see all the photos and recounts of the weekend's activities. Here's a teaser:

Stuck in Virginia Beach due to work, I (manfully and with GREAT reluctance) made the arduous trip to the beach to survey the bikinis. Y'all had better scenery to interact with and got to fly also.

A very memorable adventure...very...tired...

Sorry I missed it, it sounded awesome. I just got too tied up with work. I was planning on flying out last night for the BBQ, but got back to McCall after a 12 hour day and just couldn't get back into an airplane. My last flight of the day was an 1830 departure out of Indian CR, max gross with a downstream wind, and about 90F. I did however make it across the street to the bar...

Looking forward to hearing all the stories from the weekend.

Mark, sorry I missed you, I drove out to the airport Friday after Rob called me, but I saw 3 Maules taxiing out for takeoff.

Glad to hear everyone had a blast in my back yard!!!

Rob has me about 1/2 talked into the McCall Family flyin, so who knows, we might see you in August.

Thanks everyone for your help after my crash (Mtb not plane). I just got out of the ER and the Xray confirmed the break. No problem flying 2.5 hrs to Portland though and even greased the landing. Though with my new MD approved sling I'll have a harder time flying. Scotts Ace wrap was far less constricting.

If you guys have photos of the event, upload them to the "Events & Fly-ins>Johnson Creek 15-16 2006" album. I thought we could just dump all related photos in there. Unless of course, you want to have them in your user gallery, which is just fine too.

Glad to hear you made it to Portland. Next year we'll do more flying and I don't mean like off a mountain bike .

What I like is the shoulder harness velvet that looks like a big fist punching down thru the roof.

That is funny, sorta' looks like the Hulk had hitched a ride and wasn't happy with the inflight service in the balcony section...

I had to miss it this year.
None of my really good excuses hold up when looking at the pictures and hearing the tales.

Sorry I missed it! I did make it to Smiley Creek for the Utah Backcountry Pilots fly-in Friday night, but I had to be home Saturday and didn't have time to go up to Johnson Creek. The little c85 powered 140 made it just fine in and out of Smiley. I did see Matt and his flaming yellow 170 there - nice airplane!

Being on the tail end of a rebuild and having plans for a trip later this summer I hadn't even considered joining you folks up there.... But watching Strata slipping it in Sunday evening I couldn't help but wonder what a great time you must have had. Great pics!

looks like everyone had a great time. Next year I may have to book a flight, and bum a ride to take part! Good to see some faces put to the names, out in the 'real world'.

Hello everyone. I was really glad to meet all of you that I did. Sorry I couldnt make it out to the dinner. We ended up working late, and I was exhausted. Hopefully some of you can make it for the McCall Family Fly-in this year. It is supposed to be a great event. I have been an active CFI in the wings program for several years, and have never had a bad time. Come on out and enjoy the good time and get your free BFR!!
