another new Cub available?

I got my March 2005 issue of Vintage magazine yesterday. There's an ad in there:
" The Legend Cub...the Legend lives! The legendary sounds & senses of flight from days gone by live again in the Legend Cub! This great aircraft blends the best of fun, affordable flying with modern parts and materials to give you a ready-to-fly certified light sport aircraft. Call today. Start living the legend. American Legend Aircraft Company "
Wow- sounds great! In between that & the beautiful illustration,I had to check out their website. www.legendaircraftcompany.com
Looks like it's gonna be a slightly enlarged (3" wider) O-200 powered version of a PA-11 Cub Special. What a great idea- just about the Cub I'd want if & when I go sport pilot. However, pricing information was conspicuous by it's absence.
I think they could do very well with it if they could just keep it affordable for the average Joe. But unfortunately I doubt that'll happen. If they could keep the price down to maybe $50K ( for a NEW Cub!) it'd sell big, but I'm guessing it'll be at least $75K or maybe as much as $100K or even more.
I'm also guessing that it might be like the new Taylorcraft mfr, they don't have the dough to start actually building airplanes so they don't say "come buy our airplane", they say "send us $XXX to reserve your spot in the production line". Then when (or if) they get enough money in hand, they'll actually start building some airplanes. This kind of deal is a bummer for the earlybirds, if enough investors don't materialize the whole show often goes bust-- ala Jim Bede.
Hope this Legend Cub outfit follows thru- I'd love to see some affordable new Cubs hit the street.

I just read this week's AOPA ePilot newsletter, they had a little blurb on this new Cub. It said that the price is gonna be around $65K. Lower than I woulda guessed, but still pretty steep. But then again, we're talking about a brand new airplane with a real airplane engine, not a 2 stroke or VW knockoff. Hmmmmm.........
Hope they can deliver.

There was some talk about this new factory Cub on the supercub.org site. Sounds like the people involved are solid, and that it looks like it'll be a real deal- no take the money & run bullshit. Great! Too much of that kinda nonsense has gone on with "new" airplanes already!

I was wondering if anyone had any further poop on this Legend Cub? I see their website sez they're taking 10% deposits for production slots. I HOPE that means they're getting pretty close to producing.
I'm curious if their airplanes will be built under the J3,PA11,or PA18-95 type certificate? I understand it'd be a MAJOR investment (time & money both) to get their own new TC. Or maybe the ready to fly Cub will be sold on a "certify it yourself" basis under the new LSA rules. I seem to recall reading that the FAA had a provision for doing that.
I understand that Legend is gonna be at Sun & Fun-- maybe they'll have a big unveiling & information release. Production of some airplane models like this would give a big boost to the whole sport pilot thing if & when it happens.
