Interesting.....Yes! Wow, reading those comments was 20 minutes I will never get back. There are some really "special" people out there.

Tim has a legitimate fear of the FFA. It involves a childhood incident between he and a little lamb, and a bumper sticker on his red wagon that said, "My greatest goal in life is raising sheep in cattle country." He does NOT want to face judgement from a bunch of sheepherders.

Ahh an innocent guy died that day.... pretty poor taste dude....
Yeah. Too bad about that pilot.
Have a very sanctimonious day, Cabinflier.

It is registerd as a 172 with an O-300. Did not know you could put a constant speed prop on that unless of course they put in an O-360 in and misplaced the paperwork.
Tim
The FAA A/C registry reflects the original powerplant it came with........Our Air Plains STC conversion still shows up on the registry as an O-320

I don't know, Tim. But Gump seems like a very trusting and believable source.

I bet you hear that alot in sheep country. Reminds me of the punchline of a joke about a guy who could talk to animals, and proceeded to prove it to a rancher.

Had a guy land on hwy-50 last week,I missed it by about an hr.
Saw the plane on the tow truck, landed between 2 cars going downhill from cameron park area.
Nice job.

The owner/pilot of this plane told our SAR group that he had plenty of fuel; they started the plane OK before dismantling it to trailer it home. I believe the bird is equipped with a Franklin 220, and was a converted 172 or 175. There was record (2 feet or so) snow in Reno the afternoon before so what few open fields there are around town were not looking so good...unfortunately the tailwheel hit hard and broke off, dangled into the rudder causing flight control damage. Whatever the deal, we're happy to have 3 good people still around.
