Re: Another update from Papua

Great video with fine music that only enhances your blog.

It reminds me of my flying days in Cambodia.

What are your flying plans for the future? Airlines, Corporate or remain flying in the Papua?

Best...................Rob

Re: Another update from Papua

Pretty sure the music at the end starting around 3:18 is a band called "Air" used to have a few of their tracks on my snowboarding ipod mix. Really good stuff for floating through powder snow or clouds in the sky. Great video Indopilot, really enjoy seeing your vids, and what backcountry pilot doesn't drool over the Porter :D

That was really well done, Matt. The on-camera travelogue style is really working, in like it.

Re: Another update from Papua

Thanks folks and glad you enjoyed the video. The first bit of music is called "Satori" by Rodrigo Y Gabriela who are a Spanish guitar duet and not Papuan at all. I've not really heard any decent local music out here to be honest, tends to be mainly drums with people humming over it (like the stuff at the end of the intro). The other track is indeed, as Skalywag points out, by Air called "All I Need".

As for the future, I've got no plans at the moment; just enjoying the bush flying and the Porter. Really not sure I'd be able to find anything out there comparable to this gig and I certainly won't be heading for the airlines. If I do move on it'll be onto something with more turbo-props I suspect, like a KingAir or PC-12. Jet stuff just doesn't interest me really (but glad others enjoy them so I can hop on a Boeing/Airbus for my holidays ;) )

Matt-

Great video! It is very interesting to see how similar bush flying is around the world. In the Arctic or in the tropics, arrival of a plane can summon nearly everyone in a village to come out and check out who and what is flying in.

I will check out your blog.

Those dudes in the pictures, they look pretty tough! Would not want to give them any "stink eye"* for sure!
