Any Flying Jobs around Palmer or Wasilla AK?

Just found out yesterday that my wife was offered a teaching job in Palmer. We live in Tx and are planning on making the move at the end of July or early August. With the peak season coming to an end, how hard would it be for me to find a flying or A&P job? I've got Commercial Single/Multi 5200Hrs TT, 600hrs of Mountain Time, 350hrs TW, 200hr Turbine B200/PC-12 along with A&P license. I would like to find something close to Palmer or Wasilla, but if I have to commute to Anchorage then I will. Any help, tips, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You won't have a problem getting a job, how close to Wasilla or Palmer I don't know. Check www.flyalaska.com it is free and usually has a lot of jobs on it. good luck

You might want to try "Fish Creek Airmotive" in Palmer. One of their A&Ps recently took a flying position with another company in the local area. John Biornstad is the owner of the company. They do all my A&P work. There are other opportunities that open up in the Palmer/Wasilla area from time to time.

I've thought for years about flying the summers in Alaska once I retire but I've been told you have to have 500 "ALASKA" hours before you can get a job, no matter what your experience in the lower 48, is that true?

Anybody correct me if I'm wrong ,but a lot of people I've talked too will make an exception for Mountain experience.

Not true at all. Have 1500 hrs minimum for insurance requirements, good stick and rudder skills and be IFR proficient, and most important, be there in person with a like to work attitude, and doors will open.
