Anybody running MT prop on their T206?

206 I'm flying at work has a MT prop on it . Been getting a random surging on takeoff roll in MP, RPM and fuel flow . I'm not hamfisting the throttle while adding power. Seems to surge right around the 25 inches mp area weather I add power ridiculously slow or smash it in like I'm running from the law . Any ideas ?

I don't run a MT on a 206 but I do on a 185 and presume that it is a similar situation. There is absolutely no surging as I advance the throttle to full power. Could the governor be attempting to adjust the blade angles before you get to full power suggesting a problem with your low pitch stop.

Or with what sounds worse with changes in MP, fuel pressure, and RPM, could you have a problem with your throttle arm/butterfly assembly? Someone posted here recently about a wear problem with their throttle body and butterfly valve connection that would have led to serious inflight problems had it not been identified and fixed.

Re: Anybody running MT prop on their T206?

My experience with surging MTs on a couple different airplanes has always turned out to be caused by something other than the prop. Usually mags, timing, or plugs. But once a fuel flow problem. The MT just doesn't have the flywheel effect to mask these problems... A good thing in my way of thinking...

Take care, Rob

Wow , Thanks guys . In the time it took me to dial in my morning cuppa Joe I got two responses . Pretty awesome !! I am concerned that it may be connected to a fuel flow issue as the fuel flow needle once up and running has been dancing a little bit .So far the prop gov has been taken off and overhauled , ( and it turned out it wasn't the right one that was installed )the turbo has been sent away to the spa ect . They dipped it in holy water and it's all dialed in ... Motor has about 75 hrs smoh and it's giving me the creeps .
