Anyone have a close up picture of a 206 fork on a 182?

Have you modified your aircraft? STC? STOL Kit? Major rebuild from just a data plate?

Anyone have a close up picture of a 206 fork on a 182?

I'm wondering if I need to put this wedge piece in between the block and the fork? I havent seen the wedge piece on any other 206 forks. Anyone? Thanks.

You can look at my gallery under "my 182". Not a 206 fork but a Landis....let me know if that works for you

You need the wedge, I don't remember which way it goes but it shouldn't be too hard to figure out. Might look in the parts book or service manual.

Edit: The manuals are all here available for download if you need them:

and a snapshot from parts manual:

Why would you want Moor air in a strut?

Here is my 310 fork on the 182B. The 310 is the same as a 206 accept that the 310 has little mounts for the fender just aft of the axle.

Notice the lower cowl. Anybody else have a patch on a patch

Not sure if I should answer the question about cutting the tube on this thread or your new thread on the same subject. I will gust take a chance here. On the previous 182B that I had, we cut an inch off the tube as per the field approval that we coppied. On this 182B we did not cut the tube. We did not copy a field approval, we did it from scratch.

And as far as the wedge that is on some of the 206's, I have never seen one on a 182.

Re: Anyone have a close up picture of a 206 fork on a 182?

I've got the one piece, cast 206 Fork (on the floor of my hanger  ) with no mounting block or wedge. I have a 337 from another C175 that used the same fork I have and it doesn't say anything about cutting the strut tube. I really don't want to use a Landis fork because they are 14 lbs and the Cessna one I have is only 7.

If anyone needs the one shown in the above drawing there was a guy in Spanish Fork selling one last year. I could make a call or get his number if anyone needs one.

Probably a combo of the two. Thinking of mud flaps to keep it off the underside of the wing.

Re: Anyone have a close up picture of a 206 fork on a 182?

qmdv, your the first person ive seen to just bolt it up to the existing hole in the strut tube and keep the old scissor linkage. Im in the same predicament. Hook the scissor linkage to the fork and mount the fork on the top hole (2" higher), which requires cutting the excess 2" off the strut tube, or mount it like you did. Just bolting it up to the old hole where my stock fork bolted on the tube. Now im very confused after seeing your picture. I have the option for the HD nose fork on my plane, wondering how they did that package from Cessna. Different strut tube? different linkage?

Re: Anyone have a close up picture of a 206 fork on a 182?

I used a 310 fork as well but had the mechanic shave off the fender attach points. We did not use the wedge and that causes a problem with the grease zerk on the scissors.

Look in the parts book at both set ups (500x5 vs 600x6). Compare part numbers.
