Anyone have a favorite is Va, West Va or N.C?

Just moved from California about 1.5 months ago, any fun strips out east? I'm in the Norfolk area so, Va, West Va and NC/SC are all doable in a day.

Thanks, Chris

east strips

1. Rainelle, West Virginia is a grass strip on top of a mountain. Summer weekends there is a restaurant.

2. New Castle, Virginia has a grass strip in a valley between mountain ridges that does glider tow ops. Usually some action there.

3. Angier, NC there is a grass trip that use to have about 50 tail draggers based.

...remember, life is uncertain, eat desert first!
... and, those that pound their guns into plows, will plow for those who don't.

I would be interested in any other cool places you come up with.

Just across the bay from you on the Va eastern shore is Campbell Field. The owner, Gordon, hosts an awesome fly-in almost weekly depending on the wx. One 3k ft grass strip and the other is about 1800ft. Usually a great turnout with lots of tailwheels and home builts, but all are welcome.

Check out www.campbellfieldairport.com for updates on activity for the week.
