Anyone looked at this?

Just curious if anyone here knows anything about this plane on Barnstormers

CESSNA 180 • $61,900 • WOW! • 1955 Cessna 180, Only 1527 TTSN, 491 SMOH, Monarch Long Range Fuel, Garmin SL30 Com, King KT76 Encoding Transponder, Intercom, Engine Analyzer, Complete Logs. •

It has been for sale for awhile. Appears nice in the ad. Low time on the airframe, At first glance, I would think there would be folks standing in line for this plane, but it is still there.

Feel free to PM if you don't want to go public with your insight.

Just curious what the rest of the story is.

Thanks Gary

If you want to go up, pull back on the controls. If you want to go down, pull back farther.

Re: Anyone looked at this?

I noticed it when it was originally being sold by a private seller, the showstopper for me was the engine overhaul took place in 1969, something the new ad leaves out. Seems like a very nice plane that's been well maintained, but that engine is more risk than I would like to take on in the first few years of ownership.

Thanks. I had read the logs. Couple pretty extensive wrecks, not always a bad thing considering on how well the repairs were done.

The "Cheech & Chong" interior isn't helping any either.......

Hey Pat
I'm not worried. If it were that good of a deal, it would have already be gone. Plus, I'd be happy to step aside to see you get another plane. Just go to Barnstormer, to Cessna, to 180's. It's on the first page towards the bottom.

There's also a 56 model for $59K near the top of the page.
The 55 model for $82K belongs to a friend of mine -- it's a good solid airplane, but it might be fancier than you need or want: shiny exterior, nice new interior, mid-time J engine, IFR avionics including autopilot.
