Anyone looking for a low budget backcountry flyer

Just wanted to bring this to the attention of anyone interested. There is a Piper 22/20/150 on ebay. Looks like this plane will sell for $30K or less. Don't really now anything about these planes, but have heard some pretty good things about them and this one APPEARS to be pretty nice. FWIW Gary

If you want to go up, pull back on the controls. If you want to go down, pull back farther.

Couldn't find speedbumps old plane. Did find this one though.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1955....
Speedbumps was metalised but nicely done. This one looks really nice over the net, but that is twenty year old fabric. I hear the extended tips do wonders for pacers, speedys were drooped but not extended.

I'm not into Ebay, BUT: my take on it is that I would put an airplane for sale on ebay when I had exhausted the normal channels of selling it. As in, nobody will buy this POS in person so I'm taking it online. So I'm kinda leery of them. But to be fair, I may be full of crap (nothing new there!). A friend of mine bought a C-150 on ebay a few years ago and it turned out to be a pretty decent airplane for a fair price.

It seems like people put airplanes on ebay when they need to sell them quick, and don't want to take the time it usually takes to sell thru the normal channels.

And I think your right, some bad ones get on there. If a person was only sure which one was which!!

Please don't slap me for highjacking this thread.

Lance,

I am at a private strip between Bismarck and Minot. Do you keep your plane at Northwood and what do you fly? I missed the fly in up there last year, but I am eagerly watching Northwood's website for a list of this years fly ins. 8)

Bill

Ok, back to e bay. I would not be excited about buying a plane on e bay, but I passed on a couple bad ones listed on barnstormers also. I think the best advice is buyer beware anywhere.

We rent a hanger in Northwood, and keep a 180 cherokee there in the winter. We keep our Champ out at the farm on a private strip 15 miles south of 4V4, and keep the cherokee at home as much as possible(it doesn't do well in the snow).
The Northwood fly in last year ended up being the same day as the Friends and neighbors day at the GF base, and the beginning of Osh Kosh so we had only about 30 planes.

Cool to hear from someone in ND!!

Our champ was the first plane the Minot museum gave away, back in 1997.

For what it's worth, my old bird is on Barnstormers. It's a Great little plane, we had some great adventures. Ask Rob about the truck stop 8) I would reccomend a 22/20 to anyone just get 150 or 160 hp, and an empty wt no more than 1150lbs.
