Anyone recognize these wheels?

A friend of mine was cleaning out his parents garage now that they have both passed away. He found these airplane wheels, they fit a 20"x4.4" tire. One box was never opened. The father never had anything to do with airplanes, so how they come to be there is anybody's guess. Date of manufacture is 1957 I think. Thanks, Jim Chuk
PS. got this all typed up, and now I can't see how to post the pictures of the wheels. Here is a link to another post on the AvidFoxFlyersforum where I was able to post the pictures

A shot in the dark here. [-o<

Found a contact e-mail address for a Goodyear regional Mngr.
Requested a where used if he can do it.
Asked for list of "Warbirds" that they might be used on.

Been told it never hurts to ask. :D

Re: Anyone recognize these wheels?

Lurker here - based on the tire size maybe a t-37 or t-38? Link for reference below; scroll down to 20x4.4

Edited to add - according to bottom entry here the application is F-84E nosewheel

Abragado
Thanks a bunch. Was thinking of trying that but the lists on the other Meggit sites were WAY larger than I wanted to download as PDF files - 250++ pages.
Actually it was just one of those dim lights in the back recesses of somewhere around two am. =D> to Abragado =D>

PS: Maybe that "salt water soaked 337" of recent history could use one. CDC

Thanks for the information guys. Kind of a shame that what must have cost a lot then isn't worth much now even if it's in new condition. Oh well, that's the way it goes. Thanks again, Jim Chuk
