Apollo 11

Saw Apollo 11 in IMAX last week, and am taking the family to see it today.

It is absolutely incredible and I can’t recommend it highly enough.

I’m a space nerd and thought I’d seen most of the footage available, but they found a ton of really high quality footage that is seeing the light for the first time.

It’s no longer on IMAX around here and I don’t know how long it will stay in theatres, but this is one that needs to be seen on a big screen, imo.

Re: Apollo 11

So I dragged my 77 y/o dad out to see Apollo 11.

He watched Apollo 11 and 17 launch in person, as my grandfather made some components used on them. I still have trouble comprehending scale of the engineering that took place to make the Apollo program happen, and I even had two family members that were involved.

My dad almost never goes to movies - they’re just not his thing, but he went back on his own the next day to watch this one again. He NEVER sees movies twice, and the theatre is a 62 mile round trip from his house.

As the credits were rolling, my 16 y/o son looked over at me and said “that was the best movie I’ve ever seen.”

Anyone is this crowd will love it. I may go see it again (3rd time) before it’s gone from theatres.

I will definitely see this, if for no other reason than to wash the bad taste of "First Man" out of my mouth.

IMNSHO the Apollo project was the apogee of human achievement. Engineering that I can understand, and I think only the US could have done it. Not sure It could be done today.

Can't wait to see the film.
