That's pretty cool Tim. A theory that I have often subscribed to.

Are those AK Bush tires on his plane. That WUP must be a lot older than I thought. :D

Have a good evening Gary

If you want to go up, pull back on the controls. If you want to go down, pull back farther.

I guess he hadn't heard the old saying, "We can't get lost, we got ocean on both sides of us".

Very cool... =D>

Now there was a man who knew how to deal with bureaucrats who are determined to prevent you from doing anything, for your own good!

From the sound of it, his plane was modified and experimental enough that it seems to be the spiritual ancestor of the Alaskan supercub!

better to ask forgiveness - and stick to your story!

I know just what you mean!! I work with a Stubborn Irish guy and it actually is kind of comical at times  . My other Irish friends and family memebers are almost as stubborn  , but still fun to carry on a conversation with.

You can always tell an Irishman, you just can't tell him much.

As my sainted grandfather use to say " there is none better than the Irish just ask them" .
He got shot a blinded on the job with the NYPD. He would use me as his eyes to take him to the local pub for a pint of guinness. Inevitably he would get into an argument with some guy who did not know he was blind and want to go to blows. Several times he got knocked on his rear but that never stopped him from doing what he wanted to do or saying what was on his mind. For you old timers he was friends with Arthur Godfrey and I met him several times along with a lot of other people who were his friends. When he died they had a huge funeral and all kinds of people came to give their respects. What a character that man was and quite the hero but that is another story.

He lived in Stuyvesant town in the early 50's. If I recollect correctly there were and still are quite a few Irish pubs on the East side.
Where was Mc Sorleys? It sounds familar. Is that the Cop hang out on the east side?
Butch,
When we meet up remind me to tell you how he got blinded.

McSorleys is the oldest bar in NYC. It's on about 25th just off 3rd avenue somewhere in that neighborhood. Been there a few times for a beer or two or more....
