Hi Folks,
I wanted to give you an update on the aurora forecast over the next few days. According to the Geophysical Institute, the coronal mass ejection that occurred this morning is going to have more of an impact on the Earth's magnetosphere than previously predicted. They have jumped the index from a rating of 3 to a rating of 5 or 6 with predictions of the aurora being visible down into Oregon, Washington and possibly even into California and the mid-west! The best times for viewing here in Cordova or Valdez is Wednesday evening after 12:00 midnight until about 4:00am in the morning....Provided the skies clear up!
