Some videos were taken down? Who took them down? The commies at Youtube? This double standard with regards to our free speech just burns me up....

I would consider something like that censorship, and don't like it, but since it is someone's website (not a street corner) I don't think that the first ammendment is applicable. As long as it's the website owner doing the censorship, that is -- f it's big brother doing it, that's a different story.

The only ones I know of involved the original video owner removing it themselves for fear of self-incrimination with video evidence. Smart move, in my opinion, considering this climate of enforcement. The only censorship by Youtube involves copyrighted material. Around here, the only censorship involves your posts being moved to Hot Air, but that's a courtesy :) After the Aktahoe1 incident in summer '08, I have been tempted to unlink some videos just to save someone's butt, but ultimately it's the video owner's prerogative to leave it up.

And yeah... free speech does not apply to privately owned websites. Whether Youtube, Vimeo, whatever. They have the right to do as they please. Plus, they're free of charge, so to complain any further is ridiculous.
