And not all those guys are bad guys. I counted on "my" Feds to keep me safe from fly-by-night bean counters cutting maintenance corners, and me from myself if I was too stupid in my flying.

But chicken shit and unprofessional... Not cool in any position of power and authority.

Re: Avoid this FAA inspector at all cost....

Thanks GUMP,

And that BS with American was a joke. We are talking about tie wraps around bundles of wiring running through the main gear well area for a few feet. They were supposed to be spaced exactly the same distance apart. I believe that the spacing was 1 and 1/8th inches. Some were off by as much as 1/4 inch!!! BFD!!

Cost AA millions, stranded 250,000 passengers and had zero to do with safety.

Hopefully there are few inspectors in the canyonland strips of Utah. Will be out there in 20 days.

It never ceases to amaze me how many idiots that have no idea how to use authority, are so drawn to positions of authority. I used to actually have respect for rangers, cops etc but I sure don't anymore. What a bunch of losers causing good people a whole bunch of grief.

Humor may not make the world go around, but it certainly cheers up the process... :)
With clothing, the opposite of NOMEX is polypro (polypropylene cloth and fleece).

Re: Avoid this FAA inspector at all cost....

I know there are probably a few decent ones that treat people fairly, but the last couple years I've just had too many encounters with bad ones. I have known several good cops and one good forest ranger. Sure seems the good ones are getting fewer and farther between.

Come on Steve....... There's lot's of great cops and other law enforcement personal out there across the U.S. I've run across plenty of good ones and just less than a hand full of bad ones. Maybe I'm just lucky because of what and who I drive for for a living? I don't know...... I also have a hand full of cousins and friends that are in law enforcement and they are all really professional.

So, I'm guessing you might be talking about the cops in Emmett?? I heard they can be what your describing. I have not had the pleasure of meeting any of them yet. I hope I don't any time soon, too. I did get pulled over by a Gem County Sheriff one night. He asked where I was coming from. I said, "I'm coming from the Caldwell Airport after a late afternoon flight around the valley." The Sheriff asked, "Your a pilot?". Me, "Yes sir!". Sheriff. "Cool! Well, we were looking for a vehicle like yours coming from the canal back there and obviously you don't fit the description. Have a good evening and safe flying!" Me, "I sure will sir! Have yourself a good evening, too."

Re: Avoid this FAA inspector at all cost....

I should have made it clear,

The FAA inspector in the video was an example of someone who should never be allowed any position of authority. As for FAA inspectors in general.....during my career I dealt with maybe 100 different ones. About 90 of them were perfect, professional, gentlemen. Even had a couple look the other way and give me a break. Four or five were indifferent. About 5 of them were complete butt holes.

Pretty much what one experiences across the spectrum of humanity.
