Have you modified your aircraft? STC? STOL Kit? Major rebuild from just a data plate?

Back to the future: WWII Slots meet the PA 18

Dakota Cub's Mark Erickson of Brandon SD now has certification for the limited production WWII J5 slotted wing to be used on PA 18's. I didn't know there was such a thing. 50 degree climb outs. Three page article below.

Been busy with the crops but found time for my wife's family reunion at the Rafter J Bar Ranch near Hill City SD. Flew into CUT Custer County. Elev. 5602 ft. 9% gradient over all with rise in west end of runway blocking view of aircraft at other end. I guess we have a mountain airport to play with here in SD!

From Air Nav:
Additional Remarks

- TREES OBSTRUCT THE TRANSITION OF RWY EDGES.
- STRONG CROSSWINDS & WINDSHEAR MAY EXIST ON FINAL UNDER WINDY CONDS.
- CFM WINTER CONDS WITH AMGR (605) 673-3874.
- BE ALERT: CHECK DENSITY ALT & LEAN MIXTURE FOR BEST OPERATION AT THIS ALT.
- 10 FT WILDLIFE FENCE AROUND PERIMETER OF AIRPORT

Got the MT prop ordered from John at Flight Resource, found out his family has farm land that he hunts west of here. If he lived on the farm we would almost be neighbors!

Play nice.

Lynn Sanderson (Dirtstrip) passed away from natural causes in May 2013. He was a great contributor and will be missed dearly.
