It looks like they are letting a bit more information out on their new LSA entry, this is the bird I saw coming together when I visited the Douglas plant last summer. The one that if the preliminary numbers are even a little accurate, will be faster AND slower then anything else out there. Also, when you look at the spring Grove gear, unlike the usual Cub type gear (which I was told would be an option) you'd expect on a bird intended to be landed off airport, the reasoning there was this thing is going to be fast enough in cruise (way over 100mph) to really benefit from the much cleaner gear, and due to the wing/slat/flap geometry it will be doing it's super slow landing thing at a more normal AOA, no super nose high approachs and smack downs so no super trick (and draggy) gear needed. Sounds too good to be true I know, but they have been messing with slatted Cub type aircraft for a long time and maybe they can pull it off. I really like the 7' baggage area/sleeping area! And the no cross bar design behind the passenger seat. Also the hose it out capabilty of the fuselage floor, with no control linkage to be snagged by loose objects, a real practical setup.
